ALIV Business Hosts Landmark Second Annual Cybersecurity Summit and Expanded Workshop at Atlantis Paradise Island
Aliv Business proudly announces the outstanding success of its Second Annual Cybersecurity Summit, held on February 19, 2026, at the iconic Atlantis Paradise Island, followed by an expanded hands-on workshop on February 20, 2026.
The two-day event welcomed over 300 attendees to the summit and expanded the technical workshop to include more than 100 participants due to overwhelming demand—underscoring the increasing priority businesses and institutions are placing on cybersecurity readiness.
Building on the momentum of its inaugural year, the Second Annual Cybersecurity Summit convened executives, IT professionals, policymakers, and business leaders for a robust agenda of keynote presentations, expert panels, and live demonstrations. Discussions focused on emerging cyber threats, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation strategies, digital transformation, and the importance of strengthening national cyber resilience through public-private collaboration.
A major highlight of the summit was the keynote address delivered by Dr. Bright Gameli, an internationally respected cybersecurity strategist from Kenya. Dr. Gameli is recognized for his leadership in cyber governance, digital transformation, and cybersecurity capacity-building initiatives across Africa and emerging markets. With extensive experience advising governments, financial institutions, and multinational corporations, he has contributed to strengthening cyber policy frameworks and advancing institutional resilience. His keynote challenged organizations to elevate cybersecurity to the executive level, adopt proactive defense strategies, and prioritize workforce development as a core pillar of digital sustainability.
The summit also featured participation from senior national leaders. Michael Halkitis, Minister of Economic Affairs, delivered official remarks highlighting the role of secure digital infrastructure in supporting economic growth and investor confidence. Wayne Munroe, Minister of National Security, also brought remarks emphasizing the critical link between cybersecurity, national security, and the protection of critical systems. Additionally, Wayde Watson, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Affairs, participated in a high-level panel discussion examining regulatory alignment, digital trust, and strengthening resilience across both public and private sectors.
“Cyber threats are evolving at an unprecedented pace, and businesses of every size are at risk,” said Charnette Thompson, Vice President of Aliv Business. “We created this summit because the need is urgent and real. Our goal is to equip organizations with the knowledge, partnerships, and practical tools required to protect their operations. The strong turnout for our second annual event demonstrates that cybersecurity is now a strategic priority for businesses across The Bahamas.”
During the summit, Aliv Business officially launched its enhanced Managed Services portfolio—an integrated suite of cybersecurity and IT management solutions designed to provide proactive monitoring, threat detection, incident response support, and infrastructure management.
“Our new Managed Services solutions are designed to deliver enterprise-grade protection with simplicity and scalability,” said Akeem Saunders, Head of Enterprise Solutions for Aliv Business. “To accelerate adoption, we’re offering a special promotion through March 31, 2026—customers who sign up will receive one month of service free and no installation costs. We want to remove barriers and empower businesses to take immediate action to strengthen their defenses.”
The February 20 workshop transitioned from strategy to implementation, offering interactive sessions on risk assessment, incident response planning, cloud security, endpoint protection, and compliance best practices. Originally designed for a smaller audience, the workshop expanded to more than 100 participants, reflecting strong demand for deeper technical engagement and actionable insights.
“The impact of this event is rooted in collaboration,” said Jennifer Basden, Head of B2B Marketing at Aliv. “By working alongside our vendors and strategic partners, we were able to bring international expertise and local insight together in a meaningful way. These partnerships are essential to building a secure and resilient digital economy.”
