Hon. Wayne Munroe, K.C.
The Hon. Wayne Munroe KC, has served the public on multiple fronts as a Stipendiary and Circuit
Magistrate, Acting Justice of the Supreme Court of The Bahamas, President of The Bahamas Bar
Association, Chairman of The Bahamas Bar Council and Advocacy Lecturer at the Eugene Dupuch Law
School.
A noted civil litigator, the Hon. Wayne Munroe, KC, is an eminent and prominent lawyer and a member
of the Organization of Commonwealth Caribbean Bar Associations.
He is the principal at Munroe & Associates Law Firm and was admitted to the Bar of England and
Wales by the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple in July 1990. He was subsequently called to The
Bahamas Bar in August, 1990. As a noted human rights lawyer and legal expert, he was appointed
Queen’s Council in January 2015.
Born on March 1, 1968, he is married to Dorothea C. Munroe, nee Moree and they are the parents of
six children — Ashley, Wayne, Richard, Meagan, Zion and Isaiah.
He is a chalice assistant at St. Margaret’s Anglican Church, Kemp Road, New Providence.
Mr. Munroe was elected Member of Parliament for Freetown in the September 16, 2021 General Election
and was appointed Minister of National Security on September 20, 2021.
