Simon was the UK Government’s Anti-Fraud Champion until 2024, leading the delivery of the Fraud Charter, hosting the first Global Fraud Summit, and launching the Stop! Think Fraud awareness campaign.

He was the Member of Parliament for Barrow & Furness, where he played a pivotal role on the Home Affairs Select Committee and led initiatives to strengthen cyber security and the UK’s international partnerships as Chair of the APPGs on Cyber Security and AUKUS.

Prior to his parliamentary career, Simon worked for over a decade with some of the biggest organisations in the UK, law enforcement bodies and the Government to prevent fraud and other financial crimes as Director of Strategy at Cifas, with a particular passion for supporting vulnerable people at risk of scams.
